BTS’s music has been a source of inspiration for millions around the world, including me! Their artistry, storytelling, and impact on music history are undeniable. So, in 2025, I’m taking my love for BTS and turning it into something tangible: a crochet tribute to all 19 of their albums!

The Overview of the Project: Crocheting BTS’s Discography
Over the next year, I’ll be crocheting all 19 BTS album covers, from their debut 2 Cool 4 Skool to Proof. Each cover will be reimagined in yarn, stitch by stitch, capturing the essence of their music in fiber art. This project is my way of celebrating BTS’s legacy, their evolution as artists, and the impact they’ve had on fans worldwide.
Even though Neon Songstress is a blog dedicated to celebrating women in music, this project is a special exception. BTS’s music and artistry transcend genres, languages, and gender, making them an undeniable force in music history. Their storytelling, resilience, and artistry have inspired so many, including me and this creative project.

The Materials
Every great crochet project starts with the right materials. For my BTS album covers, I’m using a mix of supplies to capture the vibrant colors and details of each album cover. For this project, I’ll be using:
Pattern Design
I’m using a pattern designed by the talented JessStitch Together for this project! You can find the original design of the BTS Discography Crochet Blanket on Ribblr if you want to crochet one for yourself.
Yarn
- Colors – I’m following the pattern pretty much to a T, so I have selected yarns in a variety of shades to match the album covers, from bold, bright colors for their pop art-inspired designs to softer hues for the more minimalistic covers. Example colors: Red, black, purple, yellow, white, pink, etc.
- Brand – I’m primarily using Hobby Lobby’s I Love This Yarn and Michaels’ Loops and Threads. I also picked up one color of Mainstays from Walmart.
- Yarn type – I’m using worsted weight acrylic yarn to ensure the pieces are sturdy but not too heavy.
Hooks & Tools
- Crochet hook: 5.5 mm, size I (I’m using a Furls Streamline Resin Crochet Hook in Cookies N’ Cream for this project)
- Purple thread scissors: To trim and tidy up the work – and why not have them by purple? You’ll see a pattern.
- Plastic yarn tapestry needles: For weaving in ends once the pieces are complete
- Purple tape measure: To check swatch panels
- Purple pop stitch counter: To help keep track of rows
- Purple heart stitch markers: To help keep track of rows and they are purple hearts. Super cute!
- Blocking boards: If necessary, I’ll block the finished pieces to keep them in shape.
Extras
- Purple collapsable crates with letters: To store all of my yarn and supplies in one place.
- Purple butterfly charm: For fun!
- Purple water bottle: To stay hydrated
- BT21 journal: Keep notes about the yearlong project
- BT21 Cooky pen: To make notes about the project
- Purple fabric?: I’m not 100% sure I’m going to add backing to the entire project yet.
The Primary Objective & Notes: The BTS Blanket
The goal of this project is to create a BTS album blanket by the end of 2025. Each album will be represented as a crochet panel, coming together into one final piece that showcases BTS’s entire discography.
- 19 album panels + one extra fun final panel
- 2 panels per month (February-November)
- Assemble blanket in December
- Final completion date: December 31, 2025
I’ll be working chronologically through their discography, completing each album cover while immersing myself in the music that inspired it. Along the way, I’ll share progress updates, behind-the-scenes moments, and reflections on both the music and the creative process.

The Playlist
No BTS-inspired project would be complete without their music! I’ve created a special Spotify playlist featuring all of BTS’s albums in chronological order, which I’ll be listening to as I crochet each cover. Whether you’re a longtime ARMY or new to their music, feel free to listen along!
Join Me on This Journey!
I’ll be sharing updates along the way, progress photos, behind-the-scenes moments, and maybe even some crochet tips for fellow fiber artists. I can’t wait to see this project unfold and celebrate BTS’s legacy in a creative way!
